I’ve NEVER done hand lettering or bullet journaling— 100% beginner and I love this book! I just got this book today and I’ve been having so much fun!! I think this book is an amazing deal for just $7! I haven’t gotten my brush pens yet so I’ve just been doing simple hand lettering with a mechanical pencil. Still super fun! Hat I recommend, and I didn’t do sadly, is to take pictures of the pages before you start writing in them or scan them so you can print them out and use them again if you want. Personally I forgot to do this but I don’t think it’s 100% necessary anyway because you can always get an extra notebook and trace! Anyway, am loving this book so far!Satisfied 😊 I really enjoy this book. It has lots of room to practice in and is very helpful in learning different fonts. I was super excited to find that the company who makes this book offers an additional free download of content for FREE! The only downfall n the reason I chose 4 stars instead of 5 is because the ink bleeds thru the paper really badly. I have been using some dual ended markers and it makes it really hard to see what ur doing on the following page.Good for Beginners and those wanting to learn more about hand lettering/modern calligraphy Basically I have the artistic ability of a remote control LOL I have always wanted to learn how to write in a pretty way. I’ve tried official classic calligraphy and that was a nightmare. But then I started seeing a lot of stuff on Instagram and online about hand lettering and a new way of doing calligraphy. So my interest was definitely piqued. After quite a bit of research I found this book online and immediately bought it. I think this book is good for somebody like myself. A beginner with or without artistic talent. I bought myself a “Tombow beginNer “ Kit with pen, pencil, eraser, etc. I also got myself a notebook that I could practice in. I must say I became particularly motivated after realizing I could do this. While I’m not going to post any images because nobody needs to laugh that hard. LOL I believe with some practice I can be kind of good. I could make pretty envelopes, make signs, etc. etc. goodness knows I will never have a career or 1 million followers on Instagram for my lettering skills, but it’s nice to learn something new and put the creative side of my brain to work. If you want to learn about lettering and hand calligraphy, amp up the way you write/draw your letters, further your skills, etc. this book is quite useful. If you are more advanced you might not get as much out of it. It may be a tad bit of a disappointment if you are definitely advanced/more creative than somebody like me LOL But it would definitely make a good gift for somebody who has shown interest in lettering/calligraphy. I was going to buy the e-book version but for something like this I really like having the book right there in front of me. Plus there is practice space in the book. After I’ve used up that space I go onto my grid styled black-and-white hard covered notebook. I like keeping everything in one notebook so as to watch my progression or regression if I wait too long in between practice sessions. So practice practice practice that’s the only way to make it to Carnegie Hall and that’s the only way to become a lettering guru!This company also puts out other books that are quite awesome

Very Interesting and Enjoyable Read Before reading this book I only knew of the Gad Father from his youtube channel. His book is an interesting look at the scientific reasons men and woman want what they want. His personality definitely comes through in the book and it is not a detriment. I wish it went a little deeper into the research it seems like it was written for the layman too much, as a layman it wish it went a bit deeper. If this was designed to be an intro into Evolutionary Psychology then mission accomplished. I plan on reading more into this topic from other authors and hope this isn't his only book.Insightful and useful, but not PC As a safety engineer for 20+ years of my career, I was first dumbfounded then intrigued by different people’s approach to making safety investment decisions. I’ve been investigating irrationality and biases for several years. This book provides a useful paradigm for understanding where these strange behaviors originated. Some additional discussion of the breadth of distribution of drives within each gender would have been appreciated (i.e. how broad is the bell curve and how far apart are the peaks). Definitely recommended.Not what I was hoping for. I am a ... Not what I was hoping for. I am a fan of Professor Saad and follow him closely but was surprisingly dissappointed with the contents of this book. I was hoping this book would contain more applicable knowledge in regard to consumer behavior, but the book instead reads as a justification for evolutionary psychology; as if he is trying to convince me that his views are correct instead of inform me about how to use this knowledge. Essentially, the book is a sales brochure for EP that fails to provide any realistic applicable knowledge. My only real takeaway was: "What's the point?"

Pointless Flight of Ideas. Ever get stuck in a conversation with someone that thinks they're hilarious and original but really they're just immature and likely exaggerating every tale they tell? And you can't get a word in between their ramblings to end the conversation? and they're incapable of reading your body language and are oblivious to how uncomfortable you are?If you'd pay for that experience then this book is for you. Otherwise save your money.Didn't finish it I've read amazing reviews about this book and that's why I bought it. Not my cup of tea, I fail to find it funny or entertaining. For me it's just the author trying too hard to be funny.Thank God for Amazon's Daily Deals Last year I bought this author's hilarious LET'S PRETEND THIS NEVER HAPPENED when it was a Daily Deal and enjoyed it enormously. I didn't know that she had written a second book until it showed as a Daily Deal and I grabbed it and stopped reading the book I was in the middle of to wolf it down. (Figuratively speaking, of course.)Her first book is a memoir of her bizarre childhood. It's presented in a comic manner and I suspect that many readers will be upset to learn that her life hasn't been non-stop laughs. Not that this one isn't wet-your-pants funny in parts, but Ms. Lawson's main goal here is to discuss her life-long battle with depression and she does so in a way that's peculiarly her own. (And sometimes just peculiar.)Mental illness is the Final Frontier of medicine and we still can't fully convinced ourselves that it's not "all in your head." Of course, it IS "all in your head" but that doesn't make it less debilitating or easier to treat. The societal costs of untreated or poorly treated mental illness in terms of suicide, unemployment or underemployment, incarceration, etc. has never been calculated. Maybe we just don't want to think about it.This is an inside look at chronic depression from a woman who has struggled all of her life and will continue to do so. Barring a miracle cure, there are no happy endings for those with chronic depression. But there can be happy days and hours and minutes in between the misery and Jenny valiantly grabs every one of them and savors it. If you have ever suffered from depression or if you love someone who has, you should read this book.I remember reading LET'S PRETEND and thinking that it must have been uncomfortable growing up with a father whose idea of parenting was waking his little daughters up and telling them that he had brought them a pet squirrel. The "pet" was road-kill that Dad had gutted and was using as a hand puppet. Not exactly the sort of childhood memory that makes it into the eulogy, right? But it turns out that having a taxidermist father has some advantages after all. When her stuffed road-kill raccoon suffers a Las Vegas-related accident, Pop was able to fashion new hands and feet for it. [Incidentally, road-kill isn't really a literary "theme" in these books. It's just something that Texas has a LOT of.]This family has been given enough lemons to keep a lemonade stand going indefinitely. I admire this lady (and her wonderful husband!) more than I can say. She is a beacon of hope for those who live in the shadows. God bless her.

Reacher is Back!!! I have read every Jack Reacher novel and generally looked forward to a new release like that of a favorite band or movie. Anticipation and excitement! In this case I got my copy of “Blue Moon”, grabbed a bag of Fritos and a cold drink and settled in for a good read.I was slightly hesitant, because the last two Reacher novels were not very good – at least not by Lee Child’s standards. The parts of Reacher that resonated most with readers had been missing. The last two novels felt like they had been phoned in. I was worried that maybe Jack Reacher had hit the end of the road…I had nothing to worry about it – Reacher is back! All of the character traits that made Jack Reacher a great protagonist are back in style. He calculates the physics of a thrown punch. He helps the downtrodden and beats up the bad guys. He prefers sitting in the back seat of cars because he’s so big and doesn’t like to drive!Without spilling too much detail, Reacher befriends the Shevicks, an elderly couple who is down on their luck. They’re in a jam with the worst kind of mobsters and Reacher jumps in with both feet to help them out. In the end, he takes on multiple gangs, wins every fight and gets the girl…Yes, Lee Child has a formula – and it’s a simple one. Make the bad guys bad, the victims sad and put Reacher into the mix. This time he gets a little help from some other bit players, but it’s mostly Reacher’s game. The plots are not complicated and there are holes in the story lots of “What-ifs” if you want to dig deep, but it’s great summer reading and all the pieces of the puzzle don’t need to be perfect for the tale to be told.I ended up reading most of the book in one evening; the rest the next morning – a very satisfying read.For fans of Lee Child and Jack Reacher, you will enjoy this book!Reacher in peak form, nothing better There's a strict formula to Reacher novels: big man gets off a bus in a small town, bumps into bad men doing bad things to decent people.In this case, it's an unnamed town ruled by rival factions of Ukrainians and Albanians, and an older couple in deep to a loan shark on the Ukraine side. Reacher steps in, intending to do one small good deed, but things escalate -- as they tend to do, in Reacher's world -- and within a day, Reacher finds himself in the middle of an escalating gang war, where the two factions agree on only one thing: get rid of the big ugly guy. His only real ally: a younger, dark-haired waitress who likes to "do one thing a day that scares me " and gets involved in the action for no good reason, really, but she's fun, so why not?After twenty-something books, Lee Child has the formula dialed in. Some outings are better than others, and this is right at the top. The action starts immediately and does not let up. I had to put the book down periodically just to settle my nerves; Reacher does not get that chance himself. He's dealing with not one, but two, sets of bad guys, with an ugly assist from a broken health care and judicial system that put the old folks in this situation in the first place. There's also a welcome steady pulse of humor in the book, as when the waitress notes to Reacher as he prepares to go after two men in a car, "They both have guns," to which he responds, "For now. In a minute I will have them."As usual, it becomes impossible to see how Reacher is ever going to solve these problems; and as usual, he does, in ways that are both blunt force and crafty.Sometimes I do wish that Reacher would evolve a bit; I was sad, a few books ago, when Lee Child raised the possibility of Reacher having a daughter; it would be good to see his universe expand a bit, to expand the stakes of his life. But as long as he's living like a modern day Shane, riding into town, kicking butt, and riding out again, I'll admit: no one does it better.
